Welcome to my ABC’s of Stampin’ series. Today I have a Quick tip for you. Do you sometimes have trouble getting your clear mount stamps to stick to the acrylic block? I found that sometimes the label on my stamp would lose it’s “sticking power” over time. (I hate it when a stamp falls off the block!) I was in a quandary! I quit putting the labels on my stamps; however, I like having the labels on my stamps. So, here is a simple and quick fix using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (I love this stuff!!) Simply apply a thin layer of liquid glue to the top of the label. (I used the Broad Tip on the bottom of the glue to spread my thin layer.) Let it dry and it will leave a sticky layer that will stick to your acrylic block! Quick & Easy! No more stamps falling off the block!

I’ve had a few questions about how these are different from the older set of Oval dies from Stampin’ Up! REALLY???? This works? – I am super excited to try! I have stopped putting my clear images on the stamps as I find that that is the culprit of not being sticky! I will try and report back!!!! “Q” is for Queen…you are the ABC Queen….is is sooooooo fun!
I have tried and tested…it truly works! I was using the temporary adhesive before I tried this. This is so much easier and we already have “green glue”. 🙂
I’m going t try this as well! I stopped putting the clear images on my blocks after ruining a few projects when the inky stamp fell off the block 🙁 But I have to tell you a funny (maybe only from one kindergarten teacher to another) after reading your “no more stamps falling off the blocks,” I started singing “No more monkeys… jumping on the bed!” Sheesh. 🙂
Oh Karen, I love that you got it!! I am so laughing my head off…that is what I was singing as I wrote it. Sometimes I think I take this ABC thing too far. My brain is just wired to integrate everything with the alphabet! LOL I thought about doing a take off of New Kids on the Block but the teacher in me couldn’t resist singing about those monkeys. ( I also just read 10 bears in the Bed this week to my little ones and they were falling out of the bed left and right!!! “Roll over, Roll over” hahaha)
Love this tip with the glue and will definitely try it. It is no fun when an inky stamp falls off and ruins the card. Thanks! P.S. Now I have that song in my head! lol
