Make It Mine Monday…Pen Gift Box

Yesterday I promised to share with you the little gifts I made for My Paper Pumpkin subscribers.  These ladies love getting their paper pumpkin surprise every month just like I do. I always like to give little thank you gifts each month to everyone who orders from me to show my appreciation. This is something special I made just for my Paper Pumpkin Subscribers.

I chose the colors for my box to coordinate with the Paper Pumpkin logo and pens.

The idea and directions for the pen box came from Angie Juda (Chic ‘N Scratch). I changed the dimensions to make mine a bit longer to fit these cute Paper Pumpkin pens.

I started with a piece of Pool Party cardstock measuring 7 1/2 x 3 1/2.  I stamped the design (which looks just like the swirly Paper Pumpkin logo) using the Everything Eleanor stamp set and pool party ink.

Score on landscape side at 1/2″.  Turn and score on the other end at 1/2″ and 1″. (You can see in the photo below how I use the right side of my trimmer when cutting or scoring under 1 inch.) Score on the portrait side at 1/2, 1, 2, 2 1/2.

It should look like this when scored. It’s hard to see the score lines on the left in the photo.

Fold on all the score lines and then refer to the photo below to see where to cut.  (I turned mine over to make it easier to see.)  I used the 1/2″circle punch to cut out the little notch on the end.

I used Tear & Tape to adhere the box and Glue Dots to close the bottom.

To decorate the box I wrapped a Delicate Lace Doilie around the box and secured it with a glue dot on the back.  I cut a piece of watermelon wonder cardstock using the Decorative Label Punch. I stamped my image from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set using watermelon wonder ink and punched it out with the 1 3/8″ circle punch.  I cut a 1 1/2″ pool party circle and layered it on the stamped image then popped it with dimensionals on the decorative label. I attached the label to the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals then added some pool party ribbon for the finishing touch.
